The article explores the way in wich class, gender and age differences take part in the process of assignming subjet positions, places of authority and symbolic’s forms of struggle for the construction of meaning within the anthropological interview. In that purpose, it analizes dialogues and situations registred in the course of fieldwork with girls and boys lodged at official institutions of guardianship and who are marked regarding the stigma, danger and riskiness. Taking on consideration cultural materialism and gender theory, the proposal is to think about wich strategies of narrative, reading and interpretation participe in etnographic research, and to debate the political roll of theory in the building of social knowledge.
