Resumen:
Zr-2.5%Nb pressure tubes are important componentsof CANDU nuclear power plants. In-reactor performancedepends on a number of microstructural parameters suchas crystallographic texture, dislocation densities and volumeof minority phases. Neutron diffraction experimentscan be used to follow the variation of such parametersat different stages of manufacturing processes. Here wereport recent measurements carried out on ENGIN-X (atime-of-fl ight neutron diffractometer at the ISIS Facility,United Kingdom), to characterize a novel processingscheme recently developed in Argentina. An optimizedmeasurement strategy resulted in reduced experimentaltimes to complete the study.
