Resumen:
The synthesis of
the phenolic tetrahydroprotoberberine alkaloid (±)-schefferine is reported,
featuring as key steps a tosyliminium ion-mediated Friedel?Crafts alkylation of
eugenol dimethyl ether and an intramolecular Mitsunobu-type amination.
