Resumen:
The videogames are frequently used in educational contexts because improve in the students their motivational levels and learning performances. There is a belief that to develop adaptive videogames according to individual characteristics of each student could generate positive effects on the learning and gaming experience. The goal of this paper is to elaborate an initial study of the literature about the adaptive educative videogames. Three digital libraries were queried (ACM Digital Library, IEEE Xplore Digital Library, and Science Direct), 40 studies were collected, and 13 studies were described and analyzed. Four research questions were elaborated and answered. The results show that there are several concrete initiatives of adaptive video games developed to improve different students´ competences or skills, such as attention, memory, reasoning, etc. In addition, most of the videogames involve some kind of experimentation with real students. Based on this study, an adaptive and collaborative educational videogame is being designed to be used by students of environmental careers.
