Resumen:
The effect of different post weld heat treatments on mechanical properties and microstructure of deposits obtained from MCAW supermatensitic all-weld metal was studied. The deposits were obtained using Ar 70 %-He 30 % shielding gas mixture and an average heat input of 1.2 kJ/mm, in the flat welding position. The samples were submitted to temperatures between 580 to 680 ºC for 3, 5, 10, 15 and 30 minutes. Tensile properties, Vickers microhardness and Charpy-V notch toughness at 20 and -60 ºC were measured and the microstructure was studied with both optical and electron microscopy and X rays diffraction (XRD). Important variations of 0.2 % yield stress and hardness were obtained. Tensile properties increased as well as decreased when compared to as welded condition. Charpy-V values did not significantly vary with the heat treatment. These variations could be associated to precipitation and austenite transformation during the PWHT phenomena.
