Resumen:
Treatment of tinnitus with masking sounds hasreach a significant developed in recent years. It is mainly becauseit has been possible to implement noise sinthesizers based onrandom number generators in digital signal processors (DSP),which form a part of almost any digital hearing aid device. Onelimitation of these methods is that limitations of the DSParchitecture prevent pseudo white noise of being generatedconform to a real white noise statistics. In this paper, atechnique to generate adittive white gaussian noise (AWGN) ornoise with uniform distribution using coefficients stored inmemory of the DSP program is proposed. An implementation ofthe technique is carried out on a dsPIC from Microchip andsubjective experiments and experimental measurements areperformed to validate the performance of the developedtechnique.
