Resumen:
One of the most important reactions for the degradation of pollutants are photochemical reactions, which are distinguished two as direct photoreactions or sensitized by a dye. The main problem with the processes of photosensitization lies in removing the dye once the reaction is complete, with the use of polymeric dyes (PD) whose water solubility varies with the solution´s pH this issue can be minimized or completely resolved. The development of a polymeric dyes (PD) is presented, which has as a sensitizer to flavin mononucleotide (FMN) and as a polymer support, chitosan polysaccharide (CHI), thus obtaining a polymeric dye called FMN-CHI, which is easily extracted from the medium by pH change, since it is soluble in acetic acid solution and precipitates in pH solution > 5.9.The use of a photosensitized heterogeneous system represents a great advantage over homogeneous systems, since it can be extracted from the reaction medium by using environmentally friendly polymeric dyes.
