Resumen:
An upper bound and an a priori analytical bound were derived for the temperature profile along the axial reactor length and runaway in a co-currently cooled tubular reactor. These bounds were developed for the constant wall temperature case and they limit the maximum allowable temperature in the reactor. A sufficient condition to have a monotone increase in the temperature profile is also provided. In addition to this rigorous treatment, a procedure is presented which relates the temperature and the conversion profiles.
