Resumen:
SCINAX BERTHAE (Dwarf snouted-Tree frog). ARGENTINA: BUENOS AIRES: Partido de Magdalena: Atalaya’s beach, 500 m W of Río de La Plata shore line (35º01’54’’S, 57º29’59”W). 8 February 2000. R. Cajade, L. Alcalde and G. S. Natale. Four adult males. Museo de La Plata, Buenos Aires, Argentina (MLP 1817-1820). Choruses and ovipostures of  the species were common. Partido de Punta Indio: Punta Indio’s beach, 200 m W of Río de La Plata shore line (35º16´37"S, 57º13´03"W). 27 December 2002. L. Alcalde, G. S. Natale and D. P. Ferraro. Four adult males. Museo de La Plata, Buenos Aires, Argentina (MLP 3491, 3492, 3497 and 3498). Specimens were calling when caught. All specimens verified by Néstor G. Basso. Scinax berthae was recorded for southern Paraguay, Uruguay, southern Brazil and northeastern Argentina (Braun & Braun 1975. Iheringia zool. 46: 19 - 24; Kehr 1983. Neotropica 29 (81): 43 - 44; Langone & Prigioni 1988. Bol. Soc. Zool. Uruguay (2º época) 4: 1 - 4; Lopez et al. 1999. Cuad. Herp. 13 (1 - 2): 105 - 106; Waller & Beccaceci 2000. Cuad. Herp. 14 (1): 75). The most austral locality for this species is the type locality: Punta Lara, Buenos Aires province,  Argentina) (Barrio 1964. Copeia 3: 583 - 585). However, Straneck et al. (1993, Catálogo de voces de anfibios argentinos. Tomo I. L.O.L.A.: 1 - 130) gave a map indicating that the most austral locality of Scinax berthae is Bahia de Sanborombón, about 150 km airline S from Punta Lara, but there are not vouchers supporting this mention. Coinsidering this controversy, the present vouchers represent the most austral record for Scinax berthae and extend the range of species ca. 100 km airline S from Punta Lara.
