Ordovician Magmatism in the northeastern North Patagonian Massif: Further evidence for the continuity of the Famatinian Orogen

In summary, our new field mapping and the geochronological analysis evidence the existence of an Ordovician magmatic event in the North Patagonian Massif, reinforcing the continuity of the Ordovician magmatism along the western edge of the Río de la Plata craton and Gondwana margin and constraints the more penetrative deformation event to the Late Paleozoic in agreement with the newest hyphotesis for the tectonic evolution of the NPM. However, we consider it is necessary to keep on digging on the geochronological and field clues in order to led light to this magmatism, still absent in the westernmost part of the NPM.
