CONICET has Fellowships Programs addressed to young Argentine and foreign university graduates who want to do their PhD studies and conduct postdoctoral research work.

There are three types of fellows:

Doctoral Fellowships addressed to PhD studies.

End of PhD Fellowships addressed to applicants who had started their PhD studies with fellowships from other institutions and prove that they can defend their doctoral thesis during the period of this fellowship.

Postdoctoral Fellowships addressed to the research activities of candidates who had completed their PhD.

The PhD and End-of-PhD fellowships are granted for doctoral studies accredited by the National Commission for University Evaluation and Accreditation of Argentina (CONEAU). The fellows have to work exclusively on research. They can only hold university professor positions during the period of the fellowship. Besides, after the end of their fellowship they have 30 days to submit a final report on the activities undertaken including an evaluation made by their director.

The fellowship consists of the payment of one monthly stipend, insurance (ART), and individual or family medical healthcare, if appropriate. In order to be provided with these benefits, the selected applicants should present the forms to be registered in the fellowship category assigned.
