Resumen:
ABSTRACT: The role played by the Geological Sciences in the archaeologicalresearch of the Buenos Aires province has a long tradition of morethan a century. Three approaches (individual, multidisciplinary, interdisciplinary)are defined based on the progressive integration of GeologicalSciences to Archaeology. The individual approach does not show any interaction.Contributions are primarily geological papers focused on üestratigraphy of archaeological sites. The multidisciplinary approach comprisestwo stages. The flrst stage involves a limited participation of geologistswho only analyzed sediments provided by archaeologists. Thesecond stage is represented by a more active role of geologists who participatein field work and discussion. The interdisciplinary approach is inan initial state of development represented by the use of the geoarchaeologicalperspective to solve archaeological problems.
