Resumen:
The School of Geology at the National University of La Pampa was born in 1975,and along with other graduate degree programs formed the Faculty of Exact and NaturalSciences. The first decades went by with the usual difficulties of a new degree program,mainly the lack of a local Geology staff. The 1990s marked a turning point when graduatestudents finished their PhD programs carried out at other universities and were incorporated atthe Geology staff of La Pampa University. Since the beginning in the mid 1970s, numerouscontributions were made to various fields of Earth Sciences with the focus on geohydrologicaland soil studies. The increasing number of graduates along with the updated program permitto envisage a promising future for the Geological Sciences in La Pampa.
