Resumen:
In December 2010, a screen of fungal species in barley (cv. Shakira) seeds from a field in Tres Arroyos, Buenos Aires, Argentina, was conducted and a fungus was identified as F. graminearum / F. pseudograminearum on the basis of fungal morphology. To confirm the species, the genomic DNA of the isolate was extracted and the reductase (RED), the trichothecene 3-O-acetyltransferase (tri101) and the translation elongation factor (TEF) regions were PCR-amplified. Kochs postulates were made.To our knowledge, this is the first report of F. pseudograminerum on barley in Argentina.
