Resumen:
This paper offers a general information on the different criteria used so for to evaluate the structure and organization of communities hased on the usage of several diversity indices. A special reference is given to the mesofauna associated to the floating aquatic vegetation from lotic and lentic environments of representative areas of the province of Bnenos Aires. The use of such hiological indices is also applied as a pattern to measure pollution effects on aquatic organisms.
