Introduction: Video electroencephalogram (VEEG) is a study used in clinical practice in the pre-surgery assessment of patients with refractory epilepsy or to differentiate between epilepsy and psychogenic non epileptic seizures (PNES). Both refractory epilepsy and PNES present high comorbidity with psychiatric disorders. Objectives: The aim of this study was to analyze psychiatric diagnoses and compare psychiatric profile between refractory epilepsy patients (EP) and PNES patients (PP) who underwent VEEG at Epilepsy Center of Ramos Mejía Hospital. Methods: All patients underwent VEEG and psychiatric DSM IV structural interviews for axis I and axis II disorders. Results: 84 patients were evaluated, 50 EP (42% men 58% women) and 34 PP (20,58% men 79,41%women). Axis I psychiatric diagnoses were found in 33 EP (67%) and 34 PP (91,9%) (p
