Resumen:
The influence of rare earth sREd ion size on critical current density sJcd in epitaxial films ofsuperconducting REBa2Cu3O7−x was studied, where RE is the mixture of two or three rare earthions. No systematic dependence of Jc on RE ion size was found. However, strongly enhancedcritical current densities sJc’sd were found for the composition Y2/3Sm1/3Ba2Cu3O7−x sYSmBCOd. In,1- mm-thick films, Jc’s as high as 4.73106 A cm−2 s75.5 K, 0 Td and 113104 A cm−2s75.5 K, 5 Td were obtained on single crystals and 63104 A cm−2 s75.5 K, 5 Td on bufferedmetal. The values are up to a factor of 3 higher than for comparative YBCO samples.
