Most of them are in the subsonic range. However, openFoamcapabilities are not restricted only for incompressible (subsonic)applications, currently have appeared implementation of differenttechniques focused on solving high speed flow patterns. Betweenthe implemented schemes for compressible and supersonic flows arehighlighted: extension of PISO technique for compressibleflow, flux difference splitting techniques that involve Riemannsolvers and flux vector splitting techniques that avoid the use ofapproximate Riemann solvers (Kurganov central schemes and AUSM familyschemes). In this paper, we present results obtained by applyingthese techniques to problems of the aerospace interest . The mainobjective of this work it is to evaluate the advantages and failuresfor different test.
