Resumen:
This genus includes only the single species, Octodontomys gliroides. It is a mainly a surface-dwelling octodontid that inhabits the Andean and sub-Andean zones of southwestern Bolivia, northern Chile, and northwestern Argentina (Cabrera 1961; Pine et at. 1979; Contreras et al. 1987; Anderson 1997).
