This book brings 44 contributions from scientists from all over the world, comprising basic and applied studies on fruit flies. These contributions were exposed in the fruitly meetings "7th International Symposium on Fruit Flies of Economic Importance" and "6th Meeting of the Working Group on Fruit Flies of the Western Hemisphere", in September 2006, in the city of Salvador, Bahía, Brazil.
