The present study was undertaken to determine the influence of cooling coil on the gas–liquid mass transfer of oxygen and heat transference, evaluating kLa and the decrease of the temperature in 500 L stirred tank bioreactor with jacket under no cell growth condition with and without spiral cooling coil. The system Jacket/coil was much better than the jacket system, showing an increase of the efficiency in the heat transfer. Evaluation of the experimental data showed that the presence of a spiral coil increase heat transference without interference in kLa in the bioreactor.
