Resumen:
Arsenic (As) contamination in the water is a great problem and the occurrences of As contaminations have been reported from 20 countries in the world, including Argentina. Despite the influence that amphibians have on the flow of energy and nutrients in ecological systems, the role that amphibians play in transporting contaminants through food webs has received very little attention. Amphibians have moist, permeable skin and unshelled eggs that are directly exposed to soil, water and sunlight and that can readily absorb toxic substances. Previous result showed that developmental effects of As exposure on common South American toad ({it Rhinella arenarum}) were evident from 4th day as an increased neuro-muscular activity in exposed embryos. However, not As bioaccumulation was observed in early development stages cite{1}. Here, we examined As concentration up to larval stage. http://www.lnls.br/ar2010/file/bio/1790.pdf
