Photochemical Degradation of Copolymer Propylene/Clay Nanocomposites

Nowadays, accumulation of polymer waste is a serious environmental problem. In the particular case of polyolefins, their photochemical degradation can be accelerated by adding certain additives or other polymers. Moreover, some authors suggest that the presence of nanoclay can enhance this process. In the present work, we analyse the photochemical degradation of nanocomposites (NCs) based on propylene copolymers and organophilic montmorillonite (oMMT).
