Resumen:
This study analyzed the effect of temperature on some properties, namely axial linear thermal expansion coefficient and tensile modulus, as an attempt to gain a better understanding of structural lateral connections. A suggestion was advanced, to explain the variation of axial linear expansion coefficient with temperature. It was pointed out that the discontinuity may be explained in terms of relaxation of non-crystalline lateral connections. The experiments reported were designed to test this hypothesis. Fibers were extruded in the solid state, and the axial thermal expansion coefficients and tensile modulus were measured as a function of temperature.
