Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) modelling has been used to simulate the behaviour of fluidized beds of Geldart D particles. The gas phase and the solid phase are both treated as interpenetrating continua, and the particles rheology is described by means of the Kinetic Theory of Granular Flow (KTGF).The objective of this work is to identify a CFD model that represents the fluid dynamics behavior of a fluidized shallow bed with particles of diameter 3 mm and density 1333 kg / m3 (granular urea).
