Resumen:
Bovine trichomonosis is a venereal disease caused by Tritrichomon-as foetus. The protozoan can be isolated from the cervical muco-sa 2-3 months after intercourse and can reach the uterine muco-sa where it is presumed to cause abortion. Cell growth dynamics, vaginal environmental factors, and pathogenicity mechanisms arenot fully understood at this time. For the reasons stated, the ob-jective of this study was to characterize the growth of T. foetus invaginal cervical fluid (FCV) corresponding to different stages of thebovine estrous cycle in vitro. For this, the following methodology wasapplied, the FCV was extracted from 3 animals with synchronizedheat every 3 days during 3 successive estrous cycles. T. foetus wasinoculated in FCV aliquots of different stages and growth was eval-uated, it was analyzed by ANOVA, using Graph Pad Prism version5.01 software. The data show that the growth of the microorganismwas clearly higher in oestrous fluids, also observing a stationary be-havior and correlated with the volume of FCV extracted (p
