Retrospective cohort study for the identification of true-positive farms over 12-year of enforced program for Tritrichomonas foetus eradication in La Pampa, Argentina

Twelve years (2008-2019) of the mandatory control program for eradication of bovine trichomoniasis in La Pampa were evaluated. Among more than 3,500 farms evaluated each year, an average of about 150 positives were reported per year. Combining recency, frequency and positivity values, true farms were segregated from false positives. From the total of 1133 positive farms under evaluation, a list of 99 most probable true positives was obtained. Focusing attention on these farms should allow addressing the problem of persistent bovine trichomoniasis.
