Resumen:
Alluvial fans and associated rivers in cretaceous volcaniclastic deposits of Las Plumas Member, Somuncurá-Cañadón Asfalto Basin, Argentina. The volcaniclastic deposits of Las Plumas Member (Cretaceous, Somuncurá- Cañadón Asfalto Basin) were studied to document the relationship between alluvial fans and related streams in a marginal basin setting. Four facies associations were defined in the study region: proximal alluvial fan (AF1), medial alluvial fan (AF2), fluvial channel belts (AF3) and floodplain deposits (AF4). The succession was divided into three informal sections which show the palaeo-environmental evolution from a fluvial system developed over a volcanic relief to an alluvial fan and laterally associated rivers.
