AbstractA new species of rotifer, Keratella morenoi n.sp. is described from laguna Los Juncos, a temporary pool in thePatagonia Plateau of Argentina. The new taxon is characterised by its rectangular lorica with a foundation patternconsisting of 19 clearly delimited facets, including five median. The frontomedian and anteromedian facets arepentagonal. The specimens examined have two well-developed, unequal posterior spines.
