Resumen:
New coalescent-based species delimitation methods (SDMs) do not explicitly accommodate gene flow. Approximate Bayesian Computation (ABC) can incorporate gene flow and test speciation models. Using simulations, we found that non-linear regression-ABC can correctly distinguish between speciation and no-speciation. However, the ABC method failed to detect separate lineages within Liolaemus darwinii while other coalescent-based SDMs consistently supported speciation within this taxon. We conclude that if empirical data match simulated models, then ABC is a powerful SDM, even when gene flow occurs after speciation.
