It was demonstrated for the first time that As(III) HP reduction is possible in deoxygenated suspensions. It does not require donor and can proceed by ecb- /etrapp- attack. As(V) can be also reduced, but only in the presence of an electron donor such as MeOH, initiated by reducing radicals formed by reaction of h+ or HO generated by HP of the donor As(V) reduction to As(III) is faster
