Resumen:
Chironomids associated with different species of water lilies (especially the mining species living inside the leaves and strems) are reletively wellknown and this provided us with the possibility of comparison of our community with those studied in other countries. The study ssite was a spting in the Ebro Delta in n.E. Spain. Springs are present in the inner border of the delta plain, and many others have disappeared in the past due to the agricultural activities. Populations dynamics, life cicles of Chironomidae and the characterisrtics o the spring are relationed.
