Resumen:
Lakes from a group of islands located in the NE Antarctic Peninsula were studied. Thehydrological systems were developed on different periglacial environments, after ice capretreat during the Holocene. Geochemical, hydrological, sedimentological, magnetic andbiological studies were held to identify particular characteristics on each island. Based on anintegrated analysis, significant statistical differences between lakes are observed. Thesedifferences can be attributed to particular characteristics of each lake?s catchments andenvironment, and processes (diagenetic, biological, geochemical, etc.) that could take place. The present study will contribute to a better understanding of Antarctic lake systems from amultidisciplinary approach.
