STATEMENT: in peripheral countries there are persistent barriers to effectively usescientific knowledge locally produced.QUESTIONS:What are the variables explaining this situation, taking into account different cases/society features, disciplinary basis, internationalization degree, participation of several actors, R&D policy priorities, etc.?"Ivory Tower" protects scientists from "political adventures" but reproduces AKNA (Applicable Knowledge Not Applied) process and subordinated integration"Opening" the knowledge production process to other actors is presented as a challenge. What kind of tensions may involve a new kind of scientific knowledge coproduction?
