Resumen:
The igneous-metamorphic basement of the Precordillera Neuquina Sur is composed of low-grade and high-grade metamorphic complexes, and one plutonic complex of bimodal composition. The plutons are intruded into already deformed and regionally metamorphosed country rocks, and thus they can be classified as post-orogenic. The basement is unconformable covered by a volcano-sedimentary succession which in turn underwent regional metamorphism and ductile deformation.
