Resumen:
Structure and evolution of the Agrio fold and thrust belt. From the integration of surficial, geophysical and welldata, three structural cross sections were constructed (with more than 100 km of length each), covering the entireAgrio fold and thrust belt. Each structural cross section was restored yielding ~10 km of shortening. In order toachieve a better understanding of the kinematics involved in the growth of the fold and thrust belt, fission trackanalysis were performed over the inner part of the fold and thrust belt. Thermal modeling of the samples shows twowell recognized events. The first event started in the latest Cretaceous and extended up to Eocene times, while thesecond event was recognized in late Miocene times. These results are consistent with the spatial distribution of theMalargüe group, which would have been deposited when most of the fold and thrust belt was already structured, considering the Neogene exhumation a reactivation of mainly former structures.
