Resumen:
States of a quantum system can be considered as measures over the non-distributive lattice of projection operators of a separable Hilbert space. The main difference with states of classical probabilistic theories relies in the fact that the classical ones can be described as measures over Boolean algebras (which are distributive orthocomplemented lattices). The lattices of projection operators associated to Hilbert spaces and Boolean algebras are particular cases of orthomodular lattices. In this work we discuss the uncertainty principle in theories for which states are described as measures over general orthomodular lattices. We discuss the geometric and algebraic properties of these state spaces and the possible interpretations of quantum-like uncertainty.
