Pulsar Radio Observations at IAR I

The present work describes the implementation of a low cost digital receiver based on ?software defined radio?system used to make radio observations of pulsating stars at the antenna I of the Instituto Argentino de Radioastronomıa. Thanks to new data acquisition technologies, this type of receivers can be configured with programs on personal computers, allowing great flexibility when defining their use. We present the programs developed for observation and further processing of pulsar data in the radio continuum, giving the opportunity to do observations of low intensity pulsars and millisecond pulsars. We tested the system with several observations of pulsars at 1413 MHz. The measured pulsars period is then compared to those previously cataloged.
