Resumen:
The Galactic magnetic field (GMF) is sufficiently strong to induce deflections in the arrival directions of ultra-high energy cosmic rays (UHECRs). The arrival directions of UHECRs are imprinted with information on the magnetic fields through which they pass. The Field Scan Method has been developed to use that information to determine regions of self-consistency within a hypothesis set comprised of a GMF model, UHECR composition, and the source distribution. The method establishes self-consistency by backtracking the arrival directions of observed UHECRs and simulated isotropy and compares source correlation of the data to that of the isotropic expectation. We apply this method to Pierre Auger Observatory data to investigate hypothesis self-consistency involving UHECR properties and two specific GMF models commonly found in the literature.
