Abstract: Chusquea ramosissima is called the beetles knife by a Guaraní community. In this research, the use of this cane as a spike and a cutting element, as well as its relationship with certain beetles, is discussed. This relationship is the basis of a story that explains the origin of these species and other entities from the Guaraný´ point of view.
