Cangatiella macdonaghi comb nov (Szidat y Nani, 1951) (Cestoda: Proteocephalidae) a parasite of the Atheriniform fish Odonthestes hatcheri (Eigenmnann, 1909) from the Patagonian Region of Argentina

Resumen:
The type specimens of Proteocephalus macdonaghi Szidat and Nani, 1951.  and new material collected from the type host and locality are redescribed. The specimens were compared to others members of the Subfamily Proteocephalinae, and they have features of Cangatiella Pavanelli and Machado dos Santos, 1991. Cangatiella macdonaghi comb. nov. shows the following morphological features: presence of apical concentration of glandular cells in the scolex, strobila with a mid-ventral longitudinal furrow, ventral ducts, not interrupted in the cirrus pouch region, posteriorly surrounding the ovary lobes and anteriorly not reaching the margin of the proglotids. Uterine stem and lateral branches of the uterus developls in the medulla. Unusual club-shaped eggs, different fron thos of other Proteocephalinae
