Resumen:
Here, we report, overwintering tadpoles for Atelognathus patagonicus, an endangered frog from the northwest Patagonian steppe of Argentine. This semi-aquatic frog is endemic to an endorrheic pond system in Laguna Blanca National Park and surroundings. The frog is now extinct in Laguna Blanca (1780 ha)- the largest lake in this system- and it is, at present, restricted to 15 neighboring smaller water bodies, between 0.5 and 60 ha. We consider that this information is very important in relation to amphibian phenology and reproductive cycle features.
