Resumen:
Redescription of Myxobolus magellanicus Szidat, 1953 from gills of Galaxias  maculatus is done to complete Szidat’s description. Fixed spores are subspherical, biconvex in sutural view with straight sutural line, are 11.9 ± 0.6 mm long and 12.9 ± 05 mm wide. Infection is seasonal and has a negative correlation with water temperature. Prevalence is independent of host’s sex and decreases with host’s length. Prevalence in 17 Patagonian Andean lakes (from 40º 10’S to 41º 30’S) was ranging between 3.2% and 35%.
