Ultrasound Effects on the Spin-Lattice Relaxation Time in Nematic 5cb Liquid Crystal Studied by Field-Cycling Relaxometry

Resumen:
We present here T1 dispersion curves in a Larmor frequency band between 10 kHz and 1MHz at two different temperatures in the nematic range, in presence and absence of ultrasonic waves. From them and throughout fittings of these curves using usual molecular dynamics theory for liquid crystals can be observed a change in parameters that manage order fluctuations as well as individual motions relaxation mechanisms in these kind of compounds. These results will be discussed and analysed in terms of molecular dynamic theory in presence and absence of ultrasonic waves.
