Resumen:
Our knowledge of exoplanets relies strongly on our understanding of their host stars. In particular, the mass and radius of transiting exoplanets can be determined only if we know the mass and radius of the host stars. In turn, the stellar mass and radius depend on the fundamental atmospheric parameters of the stars (effective temperature, surface gravity, and metallicity). Moreover, detailed chemical analysis of the host stars is key to determine the structure and composition of their planets. Accurate stellar atmospheric parameters and chemical abundances can be derived from both high-resolution and high signal-to-noise ratio spectra. In this context, from quality spectra gathered using the new high-resolution spectrograph MAROON-X installed at Gemini North, we present precise fundamental parameters and detailed chemical abundances of two stars identified as planet-candidate hosts by the Transiting Exoplanet Survey Satellite (TESS).
