Homogeneous spectroscopic parameters of planet-hosting giant stars: On the planet-metallicity con- nection

Nowadays it is widely accepted that main-sequence stars with giant planets are, on average, more metal-rich than stars without planets. However, the results for giant stars with planets (GWP) have been more controversial and the issue of the planet-metallicity correlation for these stars remains open. In this talk I will discuss our preliminary results on the planet-metallicity correlation for evolved giant stars based on a uniform analysis of the 90% of the total sample of GWP from high-resolution spectroscopy.
