Resumen:
Study of benthic foraminifers of the Holocene core from "Cuenca del Colorado". Fifty species corresponding to twenty-five benthic Foraminifera genera from a core of the Argentine Continental Shelf were identified. Dominant species were Elphidium discoidale (d’Orbigny), Buccella peruviana campsi (Boltovskoy), Quinqueloculina patagonica (d’Orbigny) and Quinqueloculina seminulum (Linné). The association recorded is characteristic of an inner shelf. Qualitative and quantitative analysis allow recognition of a lower zone with an assemblage characteristic of restricted environmental conditions and, an upper zone which according with foraminifers reflect a change in the environmental conditions towards to normal marine conditions. The core was deposited during the post last glacial maximum transgression, about 10000 yr B.P.
