Resumen:
An indirect inmunofluorescence technique was used to localize endogenous abscisic acid (ABA) on epidermal strips from water - stressed and non-stressed leaves were use. Fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC) conjugated to sheep anti-rabbit inmunoglobulin was used to label peelings firstly incubated whit rabbit antibodies raised against (+-)cis,trans-ABA. Specific FITC fluorescence was present in the whole epidermis of control and water-stressed plants. Florescence in guard cells from stressed ans non-stressed plants was slightly higher than in the remaining epidermis, the level of fluorescence being markedly higher in the case of stressed plants.
