ABSTRACT: Since the second half of the last decade the Instituto Antártico Argentino (IAA) has increased the investigation tending to improve the possible configuration of James Ross Basin. Argentine geologists explored the southeastern part of James Ross Island according to this program. Studies have been done in localities like Rabot Point, Cape Hamilton, Redonda Point, among others. The author described in detail the sections cropping out at Rabot Point which were included in the Rabot Formation. Investigation carried out in the mentioned sedimentites brought some interesting conclusions about the environment in which Rabot Formation was supposed to be formed.
