Resumen:
The production of proteins is a prime biotechnological application. Most purification protocols use precipitation as an initial operation to concentrate the protein for further downstream steps. The formation of insoluble complexes protein/polyelectrolyte is very useful to precipitate and concentrate proteins, in addition to control of protein release, enzyme immobilization and stabilization, etc. In this work we studied the interaction between lysozyme and anionic polyelectrolytes: poly acrylic acid (PAA) and poly vinyl sulfonic acid (PVS) by isothermal titration calorimetry (ITC) and the effects of the polymers on thermodynamic stability of lysozyme by differential scanning calorimetry (DSC).
